New Supplemental Catalog Details IMTS Product Debuts

The International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) marks the introduction of dozens of new products representing years of customer feedback, practical tests and engineering. The debuts span across all product lines, each with the goal of improving your metalworking performance, from setup to finish.

You can find the vast majority of the introductions in the newly released BIG KAISER 2016 Supplemental Catalog. Here are just a few of the highlights.

Boring Tool App
All the buzz at IMTS, the new boring app signals that the future of machining is here. At this year’s IMTS, BIG KAISER unveiled its first mobile app designed to support metalworking operations on the manufacturing floor. By simply selecting one of 50 BIG KAISER boring heads supported and entering cut values, the BIG KAISER Boring App provides operators optimal cutting data, based on practical experience and specific testing, on their smartphone or tablet.

The app also allows for saving of tool adjustment histories, improving and expediting decision making and fine tuning of future tool assemblies. The app is available now for free download from the App Store and Google Play by searching “BIG KAISER Boring App.” And stay tuned, there’s even more functionality in development that will be unveiled with the release of our new Digital Boring head, the EWD EVO, next year.

Hi-Power Milling Chuck
The HMC12J is a super slim design high-power milling chuck with peripheral coolant supply for direct clamping of Ø.500″ or Ø12mm cutting tools. A unique slit design helps the HMC12J apply the highest ripping force to the cutting tool of any comparable chuck in its class, while maintaining precision and accuracy of ten microns at a 4xD runout, which allows for both rough and finish end-milling tasks.

Coolant-Through Spindle Angle Heads
Angle head users often struggle with maneuvering coolant to the cut. Sure, coolant-through spindle angle heads are out there, but their imperfect mechanics often sacrifice spray force. Those days are over. The new Build-Up and HMC Type, 90° through-spindle coolant angle heads provide coolant delivery directed at the cutting edge with hundreds of pounds more PSI than competitive products.

What’s more, the BIG-PLUS® dual-contact spindle system, hardened and ground chrome-nickel steel spiral bevel gears, super precision hardened and ground spindles and high precision angular contact ball bearings are all standard. They also boast a shorter overhang for added rigidity and strength.

Measuring Devices
We’ve introduced four new, budget-friendly measuring devices almost any shop could take advantage of.

The Dyna Line is a non-contact tool measuring equipment that uses a CMOS linear image sensor. It eliminates machining defects by measuring total runout accuracy at high rotation speeds. It’s also usable as a maintenance/evaluation tool for runout accuracy of a machine spindle.

Other introductions include a new magnetic Centering Tool with a static dial gauge for verifying tool holder positioning in turning operations – plus new tools for work offsets, tool length and 3-axis measurement.
