Manufacturing Career Guidance at BIG KAISER

Raising interest in manufacturing jobs with students in mind is a BIG KAISER priority. We realize the importance of an educated and trained work force to keep America competitive in a global market.

BIG KAISER is a sponsor of GCamp. An organization dedicated to education of high school students in advanced manufacturing through collaborative efforts with manufacturing companies.

With cooperation of GCamp, BIG KAISER proudly hosted an open house at our corporate headquarters in Hoffman Estates, IL. This event focused on high school students with their parents, drawing attention to ever-growing needs in our manufacturing sector’s careers. “Manufacturing is continually changing in America” said Stephan LaMarca, Manufacturing Technology Analyst at AMT. We are utilizing emerging technologies and methods to improve processes constantly. What does this mean to students? Well, it adds up to; It’s not your dad’s old job anymore!  Manufacturing changes as fast as technology is developed.

The agenda for this event covered;

  • Manufacturing technology demonstrations
  • Representatives from local colleges offering technology based curriculum face to face
  • Priority status for employment and internship opportunities
  • Presentations from young professionals in the manufacturing field
  • IMTS 2018 Rally Fighter vehicle

Students were inspired by manufacturing opportunity careers which could take them anywhere their imagination wants to go. BIG KAISER’s event offered various stations and demonstrations targeted for students with hands on experience to understand how a manufacturing career could be their future.

Presenters spoke about the current state of US manufacturing and the next generation of manufacturing careers. It was a futuristic revelation with down to earth manufacturing advances. Students were reminded how manufacturing environments are growing and changing fast, offering challenging and rewarding career opportunities to all that apply their passions.
