BIG Kaiser's
New TWN/TWV
Twin Cutter Rough Boring System
|

|

Kaiser's
New High Performance Twin Cutter Heads
Offer Large Stock Allowances, Higher Feed Rates |
| |
| Elk
Grove Village, IL - A new Kaiser high performance twin cutter rough
boring system for diameters from .787" to 8' provides highest
stability and rigid tool assembly for large stock allowances and
higher feed rates. |
| |
| The
construction of Kaiser's new TWN/TWV roughing heads provides increased
insert support and large clamping screws. The design features a
unique interlocking profile for high rigidity of the insert holders
to the boring head. The new head's design and construction make
it possible to use larger inserts for smaller diameters, giving
larger stock allowances and allowing higher feed rates. The heads
afford wide open spaces for unhampered chip formation and evacuation. |
| |
| The
new TWN/TWV system is interchangeable to the KA1-KA7 connection.
It provides one all encompassing system for diameters from .787"
to 8'. |
| |
| The
TWN head provides heavy duty, economical rough boring for applications
with non-variable cutting head height adjustment. The TWV head includes
independent insert height adjustment for stepped cutting and to
provide optimum cutting conditions and superior chip control. The
TWV variable height adjustment system allows for independent height
adjustment with no resulting loss in tool rigidity or cutting geometry. |
| |
| Cost
efficiency and ease of setting and assembly are additional features
of the new roughing heads. A setting scale permits coarse diameter
adjustment without a tool presetter. |
| |
Each
of the 8 boring heads in Kaiser's new TWN/TWV twin cutter rough
boring system uses two different sets of insert holders, making
each tool capable of a broad work range for maximum versatility
and flexibility. For example, a size 4 boring head using Kaiser's
standard KA4 connection will cover diameters from 1.61" to
2.59" as follows:
Insert Holder 1: 41 mm (1.61") to 54mm (2.13");
Insert Holder 2: 53 mm (2.09") to 66mm (2.59"). |
| |
| Both
the TWN non-variable height adjustment head and the TWV variable
height adjustment head are completely interchangeable to the same
insert holder system. |
| |
| Universal
insert holders for program TWN and TWV will be available with CCMT,
SCMT, or WCMX type inserts. Through spindle coolant capability is
standard across the system. Heads for diameters of 53mm (2.087")
or larger have directional coolant ports. |
