Sphinx Quadro Plus Drill Reamer Line

| ELK
GROVE VILLAGE, IL - BIG Kaiser Precision Tooling Inc. now offers
a full line of stock standard Sphinx Quadro Plus high performance
drill reamers. The reamers are available in metric diameters from
3mm (0.118") to 20 mm (0.787") in two lengths - 6 times
diameter without internal coolant or 12 times diameter coolant-fed.

| These
standard drills were designed for use in aluminum, graphite and
other non-ferrous materials. Applications may also include gray
and ductile cast iron, and malleable iron after a modification of
the drill point geometry is made. |

| The
new Quadro Plus is a rigid, high productivity, solid carbide drill
reamer designed to hold tight diameters in the H7 tolerance range
or better. The drills are designed to achieve optimum bore straightness
and roundness. |
|
| The
Sphinx Quadro drill reamer was introduced to the U.S. market
in 1998, but was only available as a custom-made tool. It featured
two cutting edges and four margins for centering, drilling and reaming
in one operation. |
|
| The
new Quadro Plus adds two additional reaming edges for 6 effective
margins. It delivers a ream quality surface finish of RA 0.4µ
(16rms) that eliminates the need for subsequent finish reaming. |
|
| The
sub-micron carbide grade of this tool combines high hardness with
high transverse rupture strength. It creates a unique chip form
that is easily evacuated from the boring hole. The standard Quadro
Plus is uncoated; available upon request are Balzer's Futura (TiAlN)
or Balzer's Hardlube coatings. |

| Sphinx,
based in Biberist, Switzerland, with an additional manufacturing
facility in Porrentruy, was founded in 1876 and received the original
Swiss patent for a twist drill in 1897. Sphinx produces 1,200,000
different drills; many are custom specials including about 1,200
different standard drills. |
