Special
BIG PLUS Dual Contact Tool Holder System
Offered for Mazak Integrex and Integrex “e”-Series
Machines |
| |
| ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL—A
new BIG PLUS simultaneous dual contact tool holder system especially
engineered for turning operations for the Mazak Integrex and
Integrex “e”-series multi-tasking machines is now
offered exclusively by BIG Kaiser Precision Tooling. |
| |
| BIG
PLUS CAT 40 and CAT 50 taper spindle systems are standard equipment
on Mazak Integrex “e”-series machines. The BIG
PLUS system offers simultaneous dual contact between the machine
spindle face and the tool holder flange face and the machine
spindle taper and tool holder taper shank. The simultaneous
contact provided by BIG PLUS substantially increases the tool
rigidity, especially important for turning operations that
multi-tasking machines are capable of performing. |
| |
| In
addition, the BIG PLUS for Mazak Integrex “e”-series
features stationary tool holders that have drive keys according
to Mazak tolerances and specifications for the highest precision
turning application possible. These tool holders can only be
used on Mazak Integrex “e”-series machines. |
| |
| The
BIG PLUS taper and flange contact spindle system for Mazak
Integrex “e”-series offers the first modular tooling
system for mill-turning applications, in either a 45 degree
tilt style or a 90 degree right angle style. It also includes
a wide variety of rotary tool holders and a complete MTC® tooling
system—a full range of tool holders for milling, drilling,
tapping, reaming, and boring. |
| |
| Simultaneous
spindle and flange contact greatly enhances rigidity and repeatability,
which yields many benefits in higher metal removal rates, higher
accuracy, improved surface finish, and extended tool life.
It will also minimize vibration to prevent fretting corrosion;
eliminate axial movement during high speed operation; and resist
cutter deflection, improving accuracy and finish. |
| |
| BIG
PLUS dual contact assures the highest precision location of
the tool holder in the spindle when using Automatic Tool Change
(ATC) for loading tools, positioning the tool holder within
1 micron (0.00004") for repeatability. |
