BIG Kaiser's
112 Series Boring Heads Now Offered
With Internal Threads for ER Type Collet Systems |
| |
| ELK
GROVE VILLAGE, IL - BIG Kaiser Precision Tooling's 112 series high
precision boring heads are now available with internal threads interchangeable
with ER type collet systems. Precision heads and threaded reductions
are available for ER16(M22x1.5), ER20(M25x1.5), ER25(M32x1.5), and
ER32(M40x1.5) collet systems, covering boring diameters from .078-1.260".
|
| |
| "These
tools are ideally suited for use on CNC lathes with fourth axis
live tooling that requires minimal tool projection. The boring head
is screwed directly onto the live spindle tooling of the turret
normally used with ER collet systems," says Jack Burley, Vice
President, Engineering at BIG Kaiser. A secondary lock screw assures
that the boring head cannot loosen itself accidentally. |
| |
| The
tools can also adapt to other "special" spindle machines
such as transfer lines equipped with ER collet systems. They also
provide tooling solutions for machines using uncommon spindle adapters
such as HSK32f. The commonly used ER collet system worldwide has
made the heads adaptable to nearly any spindle. |
| |
| Kaiser
boring heads 112.317 (inch) and 112.304 (metric) can be quickly
adapted to tools or spindles with ER collet systems, providing very
compact projection and no unnecessary tool overhang. They provide
superior rigidity and maintain excellent balance for operation at
high rotational speed. |
| |
| The
dial on the series 112.317 & 112.304 makes adjustments in increments
of .0002"/DIA adjustments. Each revolution of the dial corresponds
to 0.20"/DIA. |
| |
| Features
of the 112 series include telescoping adaptation of the tool projection
for any specific user requirement and through spindle coolant capability.
Kaiser's combination of features allows extremely accurate setting
of finish size after only one trial pass, eliminating time consuming
trial and error boring cuts and their potential for producing expensive
scrap. |
