The STP Milly
comes standard as a CNC system and is available in two sizes, 500 mm
(20") diameter by 500mm
(20")
height and 500mm (20") diameter by 1,100mm (44") height.
The STP Milly's
thermo-balanced and artificially aged pearlitic cast iron structure
provides exceptional stability, rigidity, and resistance to temperature
expansion to ensure that the equipment is fully isostatic and will not
deform or distort over time or temperature change. This provides for
added precision to measurements and increased durability. The hardened
and precision ground guideways and
increased bearing surface of the STP Milly provide smooth movement and
precision along the X- and Z- axes.
When users
combine the STP Milly with Speroni B@ncaDatiInternet (BDI) software
for the creation of custom inspection cycles for any standard tool,
and the Speroni Vision System (SVS), they can easily achieve inspection
certification of large milling cutters. The STP Milly is also able to
preset, measure, inspect and certify standard tooling. Tool measurement
on the STP Milly is as simple as pressing just one function key, minimizing
possible operator errors.
Like its
predecessors, this new Speroni precision tool presetting and measuring
system covers the entire field of sophisticated CIM applications, including
flexible manufacturing systems and manufacturing cells. Standard features
of the new STP Milly include:
A
simultaneous-fit, quick-change tooling adapter system that eliminates
tolerance stacking
for multiple tool solutions and allows an operator to change adapters
in under eight seconds. It has a pneumatically activated retention knob
clamping system capable of clamping any standard size retention knob.
The STP Milly also allows for the clamping of HSK tooling as well, applying
a draw force of about 600 lbs. The STP Milly has an adapter mount repeatability
of .0005 mm (.000019"), ensuring maximum concentricity with minimum
total run-out.
Fast manual access movement (singular or simultaneous) provided
by an ergonomic handle for an extremely smooth motion along the X- and
Z- axes, with a simultaneous locking mechanism.
